The National Genealogical Society’s 2014 Family History Conference is being held this week in Richmond, Virginia. Among the many distinguished presenters at the event will be J. Mark Lowe, a popular speaker at regional and national conferences, whose presentations always draw large crowds. I look forward to attending another of Mark’s presentations while I am at the conference and will share with him how excited we are to be welcoming him to Colorado for our second annual Rocky Mountain Genealogical Seminar later this year in October.

NGS 2014 Conference LogoThe NGS Conference always offers attendees outstanding presentations and opportunities to network with genealogists from across the nation. However, the costs associated with traveling to and attending the conference are always a factor for consideration. Attending the four-day conference can exceed $1,000, considering the costs of travel, lodging, meals and registration.

The Castle Rock Colorado Genealogical Society Board of Directors is pleased to bring to society members and guests the opportunity to attend an all-day seminar with J. Mark Lowe at the Rocky Mountain Genealogical Seminar on October 4th at the Heritage Eagle Bend Gold Club just off E-470 near Parker and Aurora. For the registration fee of $45, the society is providing seminar registrants not only four outstanding presentations, but also a boxed lunch, snacks, and free parking. Those who register by June 1st will save $5 off the registration fee and only pay $40!  Registration is now available on the society website’s RMGS page.

I encourage you to attend the Rocky Mountain Genealogical Seminar. Mark is an outstanding speaker whose presentations are informative and entertaining. The society leaders hope you will include the seminar and its great value as part of your genealogy plan for the year.
