Directions:
Plan to leave the Philip S. Miller Library no later than 09:00 a.m.
Enter I-25 North toward Denver
Take the Colfax Avenue exit (Exit 210A) (29.3 mi)
Turn onto Colfax Avenue East (1.9 mi)
This will route you around the State Capitol building
Turn right onto Broadway (0.1 mi)
Take 1st left onto East 14th Avenue (0.1 mi)
Turn right onto Sherman Street for 1 ½ blocks (0.1 mi)
Cross 13th Avenue & enter the Republic Parking facility on right
Northwest corner of Sherman and 12th Street
Estimated driving time is 35-40 minutes
Park in any open space and walk back to the Archives
Parking Rates: $5 / hour but a $10 / maximum charge for the day
Limited metered parking is available on the street, but has a 2 hour maximum time

Details:
The State Archives opens to the public at 10:00 a.m.
The Research Center is located on the 1st floor
No refreshments of any kind are permitted in the Center
Lockers are available at no cost for storing bags, computers, etc.
Tour starts promptly at 10:00 a.m. and will last approximately 1-1 ½ hours
The tour is scheduled to be conducted by George Orlowski, State Archivist
There is no charge for independent research conducted at the Archives
Research assistance is available. However, there are fees associated with these requests

Lunch Break:
We will break for lunch about 12:00 p.m.
Panera Bread is one block east of the State Archives building on Grant Street
Reservations are not required and all are welcome to join
Soups, salads, sandwiches, Panini, & pasta dishes are all available at modest prices

Independent Research:
We will return to the State Archives about 13:00 for independent research
You may stay as long as you desire, however they do close at 4:00 p.m.
Records available include, but are not limited to:

  • Birth, Census, City Directories, Death, Divorce, Marriage, Naturalization, Probate, School, & Supreme Court Bar Admissions.

For those who car pool, the driver will determine the departure time
