CRCGS currently offers two computer interest groups (CIGs). Attending CIG sessions helps users become more proficient with their genealogy software programs, and facilitates knowledge-sharing among students.
See the events calendar for specific dates each CIG meets.
Family Tree Maker
The Family Tree Maker Computer Interest Group (FTM CIG) that formerly met on the 4th Thursday of most months has now been incorporated into the Genealogy Tech Talk series. In 2014 there will be 3 sessions dedicated to Family Tree Maker version 2014 software that will cover the software in its entirety. These 3 sessions will be live demonstration to cover topics ranging from how to enter people, places, and sources to how to search on Ancestry.com or publish charts & reports.
The 3 classes are facilitated by Deena Coutant. For questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please register to attend an upcoming class:
January 30: FTM2014 Part 1

November 12: FTM2014 Part 3
The Master Genealogist (TMG)
The Master Genealogist Computer Interest Group (TMG CIG) meets the 2nd Wednesday of most months except December and focuses on TMG version 8 software. Typical meetings include demonstration of various features of the TMG software, with emphasis on reports. Often times students will be instructed to print a sample report to bring to class to be used as a basis for discussion and troubleshooting.
This group is facilitated by Cheryl Larson. For questions, please email email@example.com.
