Castle Rock Colorado Genealogical Society

Welcome to
Castle Rock Colorado Genealogical Society
Promoting knowledge, guidance and support in the study of family history

We are pleased to announce that we will be continuing our education classes and Saturday programs through a webinar platform called Zoom.

You will be asked to register for all events, including Saturday programs. After registering, a link to join the webinar will be emailed to you ahead of the scheduled time for the webinar.  Please check your email for more information.
In the meantime, stay safe and stay well.

We've assembled a series of articles, tips and suggestions and encourage you to take some time with online resources to dig into your research, find that lost relative, or break through that brick wall. Here are some materials we have collected for you. We have also created an area with suggestions and projects to keep you busy while you shelter in place. Visit our FORUM page for messaging and discussion. Please feel free to post your questions, your brick walls and even your victories! New content is added several times a week, so check back often. As isolated as we are, let's stay in touch virtually through our love of genealogy!

Tip
If your family history research includes one or more surnames prone to spelling variants, consider how you can use single character wild cards to locate those ancestors. Try searching a few different spellings of your ancestor’s names, try both married and maiden names, and use wild cards  such as asterisks and question marks in your searches.
